taillights not working properly
taillights not working properly
this issue started a few months back.... my taillights and front amber lights (Marker Lights?) dont light up at night, and neither does my dash or any interior lighting ( lights on the climate control, cruise control buttons). the dome light works fine... the turn indicators outside the vehicle and dash also the license plate light work fine while the brakes are applied. i did swap out LEDs into the taillights/brake lights, and also into the turn signals. not sure if that woulda caused anything. when the left turn signal is activated it has no specific timing it bounces around; fast then normal then fast again... kinda intermittent.. I believe theres a short somewhere just dont know where to start being that the fuses are fine. this issue is only at night.. during the day the turn indicators work perfectly fine. i had added some LEDs for the footwells along with some driving lights right before this all started. i unplugged everything i added and it didnt change the situation. as you can tell from the last vid the odometer area is fine....
any input is appreciated
heres some vids to show whats going on:

If all 4 corners have LED's try flipping them around one by one and testing after each time. or it might be easier to yank all 4 then put them back in one at a time to see if that does anything
did you try yanking the bulbs to see if that changes anything? With LED's they have a polarity so they should only work one way. If they are backwards sometimes weird **** happens. Example i recently put in V3 tritan front bulbs and wired halos to the parking light. On the drivers side i got it right the first time but the passenger was reversed. So when i tried the turn signal the first time the halos would flash with the bulb and wouldn't turn on with the parking light. Reversed the connector and wala halos on with parking and the bulbs flashed like normal on their own.
Ill have to try that, but with LEDs wouldnt they just not light up at all?? typically thats what happens if theyre backwards right? i was also told to try switching to the normal bulbs that go into it to see if that did anything due to LEDs pulling less power??
that's a flip of the coin depending on the bulbs you are using. Theoretically yes it should either work or not but since most bulbs aren't just raw LED's and the plug, its all going to depend on how the PCB board is built and what its made to do or not to do.
Unfortunately with most of what you find out there its a copy, of a copy, of a copy, of what was invented years ago to work around the polarity issue. So what will or wont happen in every situation no one knows (arguably even the manufacture)
