For those with the base stereo
I have a base model Pursuit - the one without the MP3 factory deck.
I was wondering if it would be worth it to change the factory speakers... I find the fronts sound fine, but the rear factory 6 x 9's sound a little muddy and distort very easily.
if I change out the factory rear speakers and keep everything else stock... will there be a noticeable difference?

Sh*t in -> Sh*t out.
Changing either won't make a worthwhile difference. New deck may give you the option to play MP3s and a nicker look/feel, but It will most likely not improve the sound quality.
Changing the speakers on the other hand won't make a significant difference either because the signal produced by the deck is heavily equalized and fairly weak; not acceptable for any decent speaker.
The whole thing is really a package, deck, amp and good components is the only way to

thanks for the info everyone...
my deck ended up showing signs of the ERR message and the cd getting stuck and the time starting to change on it's own.
I ended up getting the whole deck replaced under warranty, but ended up just getting another exact replacement and not the up model one as others have posted in other posts.
I was wondering, is the deck warranties under the bumper to bumper warranty or is the deck on a shorter warranty period? I'm a little worried I will run into the same ERR issues again and I do want to get it covered under warranty if it happens again... any ideas?
