Exclamation Turn off auto headlight feature

Not sure if this is in the right section first of all.

On my 08' Cobalt I would like to turn off the auto headlight feature for when it gets dark the headlights don't automaticaly come on along with having those running lights off all the time as well. I want to be able when to choose when I want my headlights on like in the older cars.

When I had HIDs I just pulled the fuse for DRL, as for auto lights not sure. But to turn off the auto lights when you unlock your car etc. you do that through the DIC

Yep. 10 amp fuse under the hood and for auto lights when it gets dark, twist the knob down on the one on the left. Don't know if it stays like that or if you have to do it every time you start the car though.

That or put a switch on that little photo cell on ur dash, the round one in the front that's for the auto lights, ya snip the wire and put a switch on it so u can turn it on or off.

Turn the headlight switch on your turn signal stalk backwards toward you and you'll see Automatic Headlights OFF on your DIC and your headlights will turn off.

No need to pull fuses or cut your wiring harness, lol.

Without putting a switch on the light sensor there is no way to disable this except by the arm controller. I know the U.S. cars are this way for legal reason. I remember the canadians being different, but that may have changed.

Then turn off the car and walk away from it like a boss. Comeback 3 hours later and realize you're parking lights are on. You'd still have to pull a fuse no matter what.

When you turn that on you're turn signal, your parking lights still come in. It doesn't fully eliminate all the lights.

Well when I tested this by turning the stick back on the left to turn off auto lights it does turn off all headlights. But as soon as I put the car into drive they come back on. Auto off only works in park.

those are DRL's Daytime running lamps.you would have to pull a fuse or relay out to disable those.

he didn't say turn it up to the middle option where parking lights are supposed to be on. he said turn it back so that it still flips back into the auto position, it just pops up with the message AUTO LIGHTS OFF on the DIC and ur headlights turn off. I think there was some confusion. hope that cleared it up lol.

Are there pictures or a guide for doing this thing with the fuses and such. It would be nice to not have the DRL on at all, and also If I could have it so I would need to use the switch on the left to turn my headlights on and off wither its day or night.
