Turn Signal Noise and Front Left Speaker?

So the condensed version of this is that I have intermittent functionality of the front left speaker in my 07 LS. When the speaker is working, I have my turn signal noise. but they occasionally both go out.... all other speakers are fine.

Does the turn signal noise come through that speaker? If not - is the accessory loop or something related to the speaker power source? or...???

I cant find any consistency or schedule to when they work or fail, nor any way to make it come back on...its entirely random and that cars own accord.

Any ideas what this could be? I'm hoping its something really stupid...

Thanks in advance!

Yes, your left front speaker is used for the turn signal "clicker" as well as the warning chimes (lights on, door ajar, etc)

Would bet the wire bundle that goes through the door post and into the door (through that rubber boot thingy) is rubbing somewhere and shorting out occasionally. Should be fun tracing it

something along the lines of what I suspected...

Could I simply run new speaker wire to the head unit to fix the problem? its still the factory unit...

or does the fact that you said "wire bundle" indicate some bullshit cesspool of ridiculous and convoluted wiring?

Not sure if GM runs the same harness through there regardless of options (power windows / locks / mirrors) but it would not surprise me if they did.

If you still have the bumper to bumper warranty it should be covered, if not, I would start by pulling the door panel off, see if you can locate and repair the problem.

Can't see running a new wire through there and to the head unit being a big problem once you get the interior panels out of the way - assuming you can't fix the existing wires.

I've got about 180 miles left on the bumper to bumper...I have a feeling theyll try and drag their feet on it but I'll call the dealer up anyway... hopefully theyll have at it and all will be well on the easiest of solutions haha.

Thanks for your thoughts!

and hopefully the saving grace is I dont have power windows or locks, so If I end up doing it, at least there are less things to have to worry about destroying whether the wire is present or not haha

stock speakers, base audio system (not pioneer).

Im taking it to the dealer today...if my calculations are correct I wont roll 36,000 miles before I get there, so they will cover it. I'm sure its something simple but I'd rather have them handle it for now. If it buys a few more months until I can afford new speakers and a head unit I'll be happy...

That said, I'm expecting it to misbehave again shortly after whatever the dealer "fix" ends up being ...so your ideas would be appreciated, emperor haha

thanks again all!

Let me know what you find out, I am having the same problem with my 06 ls. The difference of course is that my chimes are not through my speaker so those all still work, just the speaker will only work occasionally.
