Tweeter Location

For all of you who have installed aftermarket components and have played with the front staging...

Where do you think the best place to mount the tweeters is at? I have a set of Pioneer C720PRS to go in the car next week.

Two main choices

1) mount them somewhere beside the woofer and rely on the crossovers off axis compensation to create the imaging

2) Mount them as far forward as possible, which would be the bottom of the a-pillar/where the dash meets the window. This would be a goodtime for some small custom pods, etc.

Placement and direction are the keys to imaging, so for the best soundstage/SQ, if that's what your after, would be the 2nd choice.

This is of course not doing kickpanels or getting too fancy.

Which way do you have them pointing? Mine sit off-axis or sort of tilted. I have a hobby knife I can cut a whole in the door panel where the tweeter pods usually are and just put them there.
