Upac IPod integration unit did not work

I have been looking for a way to hook up my Ipod to my stock radio and found a product that "should" have worked. It was the Pacific Audio Company's UpacGM-11b. This was the model number that their website and customer service reps said would work for a 06 Cobalt SS/SC. I was going to do a very nice "how to" write up for you guys but I went through 2 units not working at all, they completly disabled the radio, only buttons that worked were the eject buttons and clock button. I would like to know if anyone has a product that does work for the stock radios in 05-06. I want something that you can control through the radio and also charges the Ipod. I want to be able to use my steering wheel controls. any ideas????????

peripheral and PAC use the same software from what i was told so that would do the same thing. the lead engineer from PAC said i might need to reflash my cars radio. could it be that when i had the stage 2 flash done it messed with the radio's security thing?

Why dont you use the ebay unit? Just hardwires into the radio harness and bam.

i'm interested in this question as well, i'm buying the iPod for when i ride my bike but i know i'll want it for the cobalt as well, is the cheapest option 140 bucks? thats crazy i'll buy a aftermarket deck for that

whats the downfall for getting an 07 radio and buying the 5 dollar cable that plugs in? is the only downfall you lose steering wheel controls?

the 07+ radios use a diffrent type harness so you would need to splice some wires. I think it was done by only one member on here.

well i'd like to get a double din touch screen but i'm not ready to pay for one just yet either so i'm looking for a quick easy method of hooking it up without the FM transmiter because that sounds like ****.... i don't need it to work through my radio and all that bull **** i just want it to be hardwired in for sound

A wired one cuts out all stations other than the one that is being tunned into. Say like 88.3 the only station that should come in clear with the wired fm mod is that one only.

they both suck but a wired one gives the signal directly thru the antenna instead of gambling with a wireless source. if ur really looking for a temp thing i would do something like that because spending 200 bucks on a direct ipod module is retarded if your eventually going to go aftermarket

some do some dont it depends on how powerful they really are but yes most drown out other stations too. But if thats the case then a simple switch to turn it on and off would work well
