using my own sub in place of the factory pioneer

so i traded in my cavi and got me an '07 cobalt ss/sc with the pioneer system installed, how easy would it be to install the sub and amp from that i already have using the pioneer setup? would it be as easy as pulling out the wiring for the old sub (is there already some rca's back there to the pioneer sub) and jacking it right into the amp i've got. also how easy is the car to run wires throughout? i know a lot of the cavi trim easily snapped in and outa place which made installs super easy, how easy is the cobalt to work in? thanks for your help!

cobalt is easier then the cavi... by far (especially coupe v coupe)

theres no rcas anywhere but you can install a LOC in the back where the wires are running to the sub (on top of the sub box then re run speaker wire direct into the stock box. you would need a shallow 10 thou and if ur expecting crazy bass ur not gonna get it out of the stock box

right an LOC (line output converter) is the only way you get rcas in a stock system. stock they dont use rcas they just use locking molex plugs

I am running my two 12's off the factory amp. The factory sub is a 2 ohm dual voice coil. I took two 12" subs and wired them in parallel to get a 2 ohm load and then hooked it to the Factory amp wiring that I bridged. It definately has more bang than the Single 10". Somewhere down the road I may add an sub amplifier to it.

395 PLUS THAT LOOKS NICE MAN, surprised u set that **** up on a stock amp...nice work lol

JJ question...if i cut the wires going to the stock sub box...and tape them...and never use them does the amplifier have stronger outputs on the rest of the channels or does that not matter, cuz when i put in my MTX 10''s I ALSO HAVE AN MTX 2 channel AMP, so i dont need any original amp for my subs, but i was wondering if it would make the speakers sound louder/clearer by removing sub. id go outside and do it now, but im in my pjs mannnn

no it wouldnt matter because th 6 channel design of the stock amp. but theres a plug on top of the stock box so you can just unplug it instead of cutting the wires
