VSS wire?
VSS wire?
I looked through all the threads and found 1 with the grey wire from the passenger side kick panel, however it didnt work and seemed to not work for others. Where is the C3 yellow wire at that you guys are using? Is it the horizontal connector in the same area?
thanks
thanks
under your hood, on your ecm there are three harness, the bottom harness has a yellow wire, tap that wire and your good to go. just slide your intake tube out of the way to get at the wire and harness easy
there is only one yellow wire on that harness, so far its worked on the 05-06, 07 and 08 ive installed avic-d3's on, same wire all cars

Hey everyone!
I posted on this awhile ago and unforunately no one replied or was able to help me on this... I'm sure that someone else out there has a Pioneer deck and has had the pink VSS (Variable Speed Sensor) wire up. I have done lots of research on the matter and am leaning towards connecting it to the wiring harness in the ECM.
I have taken the 3 posts below and tried applying them to my install with no success. Possibly Pontiac is different then Chevy when it comes to this type of wiring.
Please see:

Tap VSS for Nav from behind gauge cluster? - Cobalt SS Network
2006 chevy cobalt vss wire - Page 1
I have tried tapping into the YELLOW wire in the bottom harness as recommended with no success. see pic below...
In that 3rd harness note there is a second yellow wire in a twisted pair though. see pic below - note my cam flash washed out the yellow color in that twisted pair but it is plain bright unmarked yellow.... I just feel strongly against using it as its the only wiring clearly paired up with another one (purple).

I have also tried connecting to the only yellow wire in the first harness.
The second harness has 3 solid yellow wires... It may be one of them??? Please anyone help me i'm losing my mind hooking up random yellow wires... Im also worried I will fry something if I keep probing...
ANYONE????

No onstar, it has the Pioneer premium sound system w/ factory sub etc.
Also note the wiring harness has to have the little converter box w/ the speaker for the chimes and other sounds.
