Want to add some Bump and more Volume!

I've noticed that while running stereo/satellite radio VS iPod, there is a considerable loadness difference in the two.

Apart from that, I mostly want to be able to enjoy my Sirius more by making my car's system louder.

I'd like to upgrade maybe the entire system, to include the sub, but I want to maintain the stock look. I don't want to add a new sub box or even really mod the current stock box. As for door speakers and the rear speakers, I want them to play music louder so I don't have to max out my volume knob with running the steel.

I'm a noob when it comes to stereo systems and I don't know too much about how everything is wired but I'm a good learner. I'd like to run as little wire as I need to. I don't want to have all of the interior panels off of the car, then have to spend a week waiting in the plastic push clips that would need to be replaced.

As for the sub, I want one that fits damn close to the stock enclosure, maybe slight modifications but nearly perfect fit. As for the stock amp, more than likely I would want to power a new sub with a new amp, and maybe even all the speakers if that's easy enough.

I read the sticky on the amp bypass so I should be able to handle that. As far as I read, that amp only powers the trunk sub, right?

Speaker recommendations, reviews, part numbers and lessons learned are much appreciated!

i would just replace the door and rear speakers with some infinity or JBL 2 ohm speakers. as well as adding sound dampening to the door and a little bit on the rear deck as well.

Then if you wanted to upgrade the bass you can get an LOC with remote out, amp and sub

How much of an improvement over stock pioneer sound would either of those options be? I don't really want to attempt to wire an amp throughout my car just to my door speakers and rear deck speakers. I don't like pulling apart plastics and carpet, I know I'll never get it to look as good lol.

As for a new sub and amp to power it, I don't mind wiring in a new amp in the back, but like I said, I would really like to maintain the stock enclosure.

right i wasnt suggesting an amp which is why i mentioned 2 ohm speakers. the stock speakers are 2 ohm and if you are replacing only the speakers not the stock amp you will need 2 ohm speakers. I cant really say how much of an improvement it would be. I mean if you did a good enough just just utilizing sound dampening you can make the stock speakers sound much better. But as you said you cant really get it back to stock tight so why would you not swap the speakers out as well when you have the door panels out?

sub and amp is all on you but if you are looking to not pull up the carpet you must find an LOC that is going to give you remote out for the amp to turn on. The only other place to get that is in the front of the car requiring you to pull apart stuff. I highly doubt you can find one now but the kenwood excelon shallow woofer with the CF cone or dustcap was a direct replacement of the stock woofer.

Does the amp in our cars power just the sub in the trunk? Or does it power the entire system?

It powers all the speakers as well as the subwoofer.

So armed with that knowledge, any speakers I install can be powered by it then? I'd imagine unhooking all the speakers to replace them and wire them to a new amp is a pain.

yes however the stock speakers are 2 ohm. You will want to replace them with 2 ohm speakers. Most speakers you find will be 4 ohm. 4 ohm speakers would run at half power on the stock amp severely decreasing the volume.

Right on. Then I'll have to check crutchfield for some good speakers, then worry about the sub later.

I've always been a fan of CDT Audio and they have a decent amount of 2Ω speakers on WoofersEtc.
