Service Airbag

So my service airbag has been on for 2 weeks straight and can't seem to figure out what's broken. Passenger air bag on/off is always off no matter who sits in my passenger seat, so any clues there or how I can figure out what the issue is, will an OBD scanner have a code? Or will I need more?

Typically it's the passenger airbag sensor underneath your passenger seat. Unplug it and plug it back in. If that doesnt fix it, get ready to pay lots of $$.

dealership repaired. IT was the sensor under the passenger seat. 250 in parts, and 300 in labor. took around 3 1/2 hours to replace.

I had "Service Air Bag" on in DIC. My issue was the passenger seat belt retractor, but I know why that happened and I got the extended warranty so cost wasn't an issue. Most of the time its the sensors in the passenger seat that go bad, but also check the passenger seat belt anchor in the floor. There are 2 wires that run from the anchor under the carpet to I'm not sure where. But mine were chaffed and grounding out.

Good lord. How is it installed? I have removed and replaced seats before, but always unplugged the sensor. Can't be worth $300 in labor.

Dunno, apparently he had to take the passenger seat out and pull the sensor from it. I figured it was something I could do but the sensor is like 250 bucks and I didn't have time to mess with it.

Yeah it's something you could do for sure.

Totally worth saving the money.
