What box?
What box?
I recently purchased a 12" audiobahn dual 4 ohm voice coil performer series for less than half the retail. I also have a decent amp. The sub is currently in a 1.3 cubic ft(internal dim.) box that is sealed. According to the booklet that came with the sub 1.3 cubic ft would need a 3x7.75 inch port. input? also if I port it, should I use that "batting" white cottony crap? I have always just used home made sealed boxes at random dimensions and had great results. This is loud and shakes my car, but is missing something.
Please dont port it, you'll never get tight bass with a port, all porting does is make your sub louder. I always use sealed boxes whenever I build boxes but when I got my new subs (Rockford Fosgate Power Stage 1's) the book said said they were too powerful to use in a sealed enclosure so I made a ported enclosure that met specifications and the bass was loud as hell but there was no tightness or crispness of the bass. So I made some smaller sealed enclosures and they rock now. I don't have a '81 Caprice on 24"s so I have no need to be able to make the next town over hear my bass (although I could if I turned my system to max bass
