Where to purchase LS audio equipment
I would like to pick up some new speakers and maybe a sub/+amp. How does all of this work? You need to get all of it to make good sound, right?
I would also like to get a new radio unit. Mine does not have a port for an mp3 player.
Is there anything that would need to be done to my car to make all of this work? Would I need a new battery? Please post up some links of trusted brands

If you know nothing about car audio maybe you should go to Best Buy or some local car audio dealer I'm sure they can help you.

Thanks for your awesome input.
I want my music to basically be louder and clearer but not so loud that you can't understand the words.

well in that case your going to want to replace all 4 speakers and depending on how much improvement you want or need in terms of sub add a amp/sub as well.
Personally ive been a fan of going either all aftermarket or staying all stock but ill let you know the advantages to what upgrades you do
Deck- you will gain more control of the system as a whole assuming you get a nice unit. Also most head units have internal amps so you may get a lil more volume out of the stock system but i wouldnt push it because stock speakers are usually very close to maxed out (id recommend a pioneer)
Midrange speakers(6.5 up front and 6X9 in the back) - upgrading these will give you more volume and clarity. THe aftermarket speakers have better materials and better efficency so usually this would be my first upgrade. Depending on your stock setup thou is where it gets tricky. The pioneer system has a wierd amp so if you have it the easiest thing to do is to get a nice componant set up front, coax 6X9s in the back along with a 4 channel amp to power the highs. Only problem is your going to lose a bit of sound quality using a line level convertor to the highs amp so an aftermarket deck is a good plus here. If you have the low level stock system you can go with a component setup up front as well but a coax would also work great... plus wireing an amp is easier but not nessicary (recommeded speakers Infinity, recommended amp rockford fosgate)
sub/amp - This is a def plus for your low end. A sub will do what your midrange's cannot so even a smaller setup is great a good referance is the smaller the sub the tighter its bass the larger a sub the boomier the bass but you also get more volume (thats a referance but box amp and install play a giant role in the subs actual preformance) also adding a second speaker or doubling the power doubles your volume (in theory) but also its harder to control more speakers and make them sound nice. Usually for a SQ type build no more then 2 subs are recommended and never mix sub sizes (im not going to recommend a brand because it has alot to do with your goals and price range)
