Where's the remote wire on the stock head unit?
Ok I searched for this and I couldnt find anything helpful just a bunch of newbish crap I already knew. If I have to ill sit here with a multimeter and probe every single wire I have to, but Im just trying to save some time here from some ppl that have done this and hopefully can give an intelligent response.
I have a 2007 with the Xm and the 6 cd in dash unit and im just adding a small mono amp and a new 10inch sub ill be using in the stock enclosure, im running RCA line converters off the rear speakers, then obviously power and ground are available in the trunk already, only other thing I need is the remote source.
From what I figure I should be able to tap this off the head unit or possibly the amp that runs the current sub, so all i need know is where this stock amplifier is, or where I can tap it off the head unit
This is the sub ill be using

There is a remot wire but it will do you not good. It drops its voltege to 6 volts when its off and ups it to 12 when its on. This will still keep an after market amp on all the time in most cases.
I taped in to one of the fused wires coming out of the fuse box that is only on when the car is on.
