Wiring Harness Help

Ok so i skimmed through the threads here and im still pretty lost as to what i need to do. I have a 2006 Cobalt SS with the pioneer sound thing and i want to put in my alpine deck, amp and two subs. I dont want to buy that $110 harness bs. So what are my other options? Can i buy one of those $10 harness's from walmart or what? TYIA. =)

You can do what i did and hard wire the harness for the receaver into your cars factory harness and tap your wiper fuse for the ignition wire. I do remember seeing a thread in the howto section about repining a nissan wiring harness.

If you do choose to hardwire it this should help.

and if not this should help you.

The amp and sub install is pretty easy seeing how the battery is in the trunk , best idea ever!

Hope that helps a little.

Recheck all your wiring to make sure the speaker wires coming from the new HU are matching up with the stock HU speaker wires.

The colors on the wires coming from the car do not match with the ones coming from my HU, i assume I need to use this sticky https://www.cobaltss.net/forums/electronics-audio-video-49/cobalt-audio-pinouts-2823/ BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO EXACTLY DO ANyMORE...everything is connected, I guess im going to re-PIN the wiring harness, and mess with it until it works, but one more question would it affect the HUif my red an yellow wires are connected together to the 12 v source? The Hu turns on and works but I just cannot get any sound of it. Thank you fellow cobaltss.net members

problem is getting the stock amp to turn on... u must find what ever color wire that is and hook it up to the blue (or blue white whatever the remote is i forget... or u could just hook them all together doesnt matter) remote wire and it will turn on the stock amp.... pm fr33k for a explanation of the wire colors on the Input harness into your stock amp. post up the results so i can let peeps know when they continue to do this
