wiring harness to use??

what wiring harness for the radio is everyone using?? should I just buy the crutchfield harness or should I buy the one from metra. The metra harness says that if I use there harness I will be able to keep my door chimes and my RAN feature. By the way I have a base cobalt.

I'm not sure which harness you use since I spliced in to my factory wiring, but regardless, you are not going to lose your door chimes or anything else if you replace the factory radio. You don't need a $100 wiring harness to keep your factory radio plugged in. My factory radio has been out for a few months, and I still have the chime and everything else on my car.

I ran it to the fuse block, which is on the passenger side of the car. I connected it to the fuse that controls the sunroof.

I would personally get the Metra harness. We have to use those at Best Buy. Everything could work fine with the normal harness or the door chimes dont work along with some other things. I've been told that air bags have randomly deployed but not sure how true that is. Either way, RDS is a bitch for changing radios.

Lol you DON T need to buy a harness for a base cobalt
The thing avout air bag is just to give the error code of the air bag and it WILL NOT **** anything
If you want to relocate your factory radio just buy 15ft of trailer wire and pick the dark green wire to the front of the car
