Wiring a radar detector in
So im gonna be getting a radar detector soon and i wanna hardwire it in. My question is that if i have the PAC unit already, is there a switched 12v and a ground in there i can tap into for the radar detector? Because the cig lighter is always on.. Thanks!!
Also where are you guys running the wires for these, for those who have already hardwired them?

this isn't really a help to you but radar detectors are pointless imo..... lol I believe they only light up when the radar is actually aimed at you and takng speed (so it's too late by the time your detector goes off)
I have mine tapped of the cigarette lighter with a switch in the compartment the trunk pop is in
My detector sits on the dash against the A-pillar under my boost gauge.
The only problem i have with it is when im under heavy acceleration the Laser goes off

If you have a boosted SS, just hook up to the power wires for the boost gauge, that's what I did on the SS, and on my 2.2L, I taped into the sunroof fuse. Then it will turn on and off with the car.
if you have an auto dimming mirror there are some detectors that you can buy a cord for that will tap into the mirror's harness. i bought one for my 9500ix but have never installed it and actually forgot all about it until i read this post. thanks lol
