XM problemo

Hey all,

well this has happened ever since I installed the terk adapter for my pioneer deck and the xm universal box thingy... What happens is i refresh the signal to the xm box, tune it to channel 1, wait 15-20 mins and check my other channels and yep they are all there and work fine. As soon as I start my car, so the power cuts and comes back, all the channels are gone! Now my deck draws power from a wire that was spliced. The deck works perfectly. Now the terk thingy needs power, so I just put it on that spliced wire again. Could it be that it's trying to draw too much power and when I start the car and it cuts, i loose all my channels? Or is that a stupid assumption? I dont think any hardware is defective, or else none of the channels would show up ever... It's racking my brain! Help!!

Thanks,
Vic

I'm not familiar with that setup, but does your terk adapter thing have 2 power wires like the head unit? One constant to keep the station memory and one switched so it turns on with the car? It sounds like when the power gets removed from the unit it loses it's config, so you need to give it constant power.

Tap off the deck's constant power wire instead of the switched power wire....
