XM Satellite Question

First off I drive a 2009 Cobalt 2LT (SS/NA package or whatever) I was just wondering if all cobalts come XM ready? I have the fin on the roof of course and I beleive i have the box under my passenger seat. I am interested in activating the XM but when i go to do this is says to tune to "Channel 0'' on the XM station or whatever i cant do that or dont know how lol.

I thought Channel 1 gave you the xm radio id number. That is what you need in order to activate your XM radio. I think a majority of the 2LT and up models come XM ready.

Well when I hit the "Band" button on the radio it never switches to XM. Coould this be because when I bought the car the original owner used the 3 month trial peroid and never extended it and it just ran out or something???

I think you should still be able to get to the XM part, because that is where the radio ID is stored. Plus you would be able to at least hear the preview channel. Do you have the stock head unit?

I think you do have it because you have the black fin on the roof. My next guess is to maybe go up to a stealership and see if they can tell you. Let me go look in my manual and see if it says anything on it.

Do you happen to have the window sticker that came with the car? I know you said the previous owner may have had it, but I read somewhere else that the tuner for XM is in the read deck lid of the car. So maybe the last owner took it out. IDK. I'm guessing here.
