XM Tuner Location

I'm getting ready to change out my factory radio and install my nice Pioneer h/u. I've been trying to locate the factory XM tuner. Does anyone know where GM hid the dang thing in the 2005 LS model?

Also in an effort to find a source of key switched power, does anyone know if the power to factory XM unit is switched by the key? Hopefully if is is close to the dash, I might be able to use it instead if tapping a fuse.

On a side note some of you might find this funny. I called the local car audio shop to see if they had the dash kit and wire harness (I'm impatient and didn't want to wait on mailorder). They told me that ALL Cobalts require that chime box and if you remove the factory radio without it you will "drop your transmission in a few weeks" I laughed said yeah whatever. He then proceeded to tell me that none of the Cobalts chime "behind the dash" and that I didn't know what I was talking about since I'm not an technician. I think I just might have to drive by and prove him wrong. And I'm sure my degree in EE and 20+ years in electronics doesn't count for anything in his book.
