Bigger and better things. I don't feel like fighting for reliability and traction while only putting down mid 300's. Thats bullshit.
eh, im not gonna do headwork for quite some time. i dont know what im really gonna do with this car. might just turbo convert it on a small gt28 and see how long that lasts on stock block as my DD. the 350z will be my toy. big single turbo project on that one. i expect you there helping me tune it lol

See, the Lotus is about the same price as the Z. But a lot more rare, a lot nicer, still 4 cyl, rear wheel drive. And fast as **** when boosted.

If it's possible for me, I'm gonna try and find a used Lotus Elise as a weekend/build car. I had found some for the mid 30's with only ~5K miles on them. But insurance would be the big question on one of those things. Not to mention maintenance.
Its toyota running gear, so manitenace is nothing. Insurance, I wouldn't know, but price wise, they are out there for low 20's, same payments as my 'balt was...

I'm thinking a 350Z, I have always wanted one. I'm also kicking around the idea of a C5 Z06, and my buddy actually brought up the Elise idea, but I'm not looking for a track car and I love straight line power, so, no go there for now.

I knew they ran a 1.8 toyota motor but I was unsure if anything was changed for Lotus. For example, like how you can only take a Ferrari to a Ferrari dealership to have it worked on(if you want the work done properly. I didn't know if the lotus was a similar situation. I know I am comparing 2 completely different cars but still...

Nah, its a regular, toyota spec 2zz motor, same as any corolla or whatever else, 1.8 @ 180hp.

Nobody said head work... Pull cams, pull lifters, drop in BLE adjustable solids, install GMR cams, adjust valves, rev to 7500rpms still making power...

What is his setup for 306hp?

I wouldn't have thought my car over 300whp before when it was similar to yours, but I pulled on some fast ******* cars.

So, high-helix rotors and ported head. Stock size valves? Stock cams I'm assuming?

I would think with that setup, you really need some more exhaust. Buy my Clear Image header/dp combo.

I would have given you a good run then. I was closer to mid 300's, but still on stock blower. I'm not really sure why you were only getting 306 with all that work then, seems strange to me.

What cams?

Why the cast manifold?
