Lowered And RKSport Hood (56k might be slow)

Well.. Finally I have been able to post up some pictures of my car finished (well for now).. It's been lowered on Sportlines and RKSport Fiberglass hood.. It think it turned out well.. I enjoy it and I am very happy with it.. Next will be stage kit and rims or bodykit (nothing out I like in bodykits yet tho)..

This weekend its going in for a Compustar Remote Start/Alarm Pager combo.. Costing me a pretty penny.. But I don't mind.. Anything to protect my car to the best.. I think conventinal alarms suck.. With the pager you can keep an eye on it.. Not just an alarm going off..

Here is the car before..

Looks great man, just in case I decide to get that hood, how much did it end up being once it got painted? without shipping? but that looks nice especially with all that yellow!

The hood I got for a really good deal.. I paid $1500cdn for all of that.. It includes.. Lowering the car and alignments, fender paint and install, fender liner install, rear bumper repair and repaint, the hood installed and painted...

Considering the hood cost $600US (without shipping or paint) I got a amazing deal.. I think it was somewhere around $350cdn or something for the hood painted and installed.. Sorry I can't help you out much in this area.. I can tell you not many people have this hood cause of the cost.. I mean I figure it will be around $1000 painted and shipped (that's cdn).. So I mean it's kinda pricy.. But like I said I got a deal I couldn't pass up

I know what you mean.. But the thing is.. No hood wil work for the SS/SC.. Unless you use a short air intake. .Your not gonna get the air in thr wheel well for the intake.... I am thinking about having the air route to my supercharger when I get a kit (since everything will be repainted again).. But for now I am happy.. And it doesn't bother me

I see you have the same fitment problems that I had. It was up on the drivers side as well. Try taking off your hood support rod. That may help a bit. But looks good!!!

Yeah I was thinking about taking the hood strut off.. I think that it's making that side higher.. I am gonna try that some day, but if you take it off then what are you suppose to use to hold the hood up.. Trust me.. If I have to take that off to make it sit better.. Then I will do it.. But it's just I also want something to hold my hood open as well..

what did you do

I never say this, but I got chills looking at the picture of the front with the new hood and the glare in the photo. Man, that's amazing. Looks really good lowered as well. Lucky, lol. Can't wait to get mine.

Ok, I still use my hood strut. It just isn't in the engine compartment. It's in my trunk. Whenever I have to have my hood opened, I connect the top of the hood strut to the hood itself however I slide the bottom part of the strut over to a plastic piece that has a little lip to it. I don't know if you know where im talking about. It's like 2-3 inches away from where the bottom part of the strut should be attached. I just let it sit there and it holds the hood up for me. Of course, someone could easily knock it out because the bottom part isn't exactly attached to anything, it's just leaning against the lip.

i was gonna say use a custom cut broom handle... but that works too! The only reason i say this is the fact that i had a ram air hood on my 76 C-10 pickup and i put the stock hinges in and it cracked the fiberglass so i had it fixed then cut a broom handle to length and kept it behind the seat... Looked ghetto when i used it but who cares when you need to hold the hood up whos lookin at your ride anyways!
