My car before and after mods!
Here's a pic of my little '06 Cobalt 2.4L SS the weekend after I got it:
And now some pics after it has been modded (with the help of an '03 Neon!):
Her insurance has accepted liability and they have decided to total my car. The front passenger side suspension castings were snapped and the wheel was laying at a 30 degree angle (if measured from ground). Also the rear suspension was messed up and the tranny casing was busted. The body shop tore that hole in the door to help get it open.
Everybody involved in the wreck is fine, except for my poor little 'balt.
She was able to drive away from the accident with just a damaged bumper and headlight...
Any thoughts on what I should be receiving from the insurance company for a settlement? The car is 6 months old and only had 4398 miles on it.
They were kind enough to get me a rental car, an '06 PT Cruiser! Now I'm really riding in style!

I'll see how much they'll sell it back to me for, but I doubt I can afford it.
As far as new car, I'm kinda up in the air. Seems like all the Cobalt's around here are 21k + (SS, SC and non) whereas the ION redline's are <21, but imo they don't compare in the looks department. Man I'd like that supercharger though.

Sorry to hear about your tragic loss, man. With the red tag sales going on, you should be able to get an '06 for a killer discount, or an '07 for better than what I paid.
If you do end up buying the car back, I'd take the undamaged rims off of your hands. Screwed up and did a bitchcurb the other day.

I'd get a Ion Redline... same engine... and you'd be one of the very few on the road. Plus... I like the idea of the little rear doors. The looks will grow on you...
