Talking My Ultra Silver LS Coupe!

Just picked this one up on Friday from Chevyland in Shreveport. I was actually going to buy a used Civic Si, but decided on this one. It rolled off the truck Thursday, and I bought it Friday. I used the Sam's Club auto buying program to get it at invoice + 2%. Right now I've only got exterior pics, but I'll work on getting some interior pics shortly. First mod will be window tint...I feel like I'm driving around in a fish bowl. After that, definitely a good car alarm and then other stuff.

I have to say I'm really diggin the MP3 player and the XM is nice too. I'm glad they didn't put the XM antenna in a retarded location like they did on the Colorados I saw at the dealer.

Gonna go legal with it, not sure what the max % is in Louisiana off hand. I've had state police problems in the last few months and I don't want to speak with them again for awhile.

haha yeah I got you, in NY anythings legal on all the windows besides for the drivers/front passenger door. Your not allowed ANYTHING on them. Some people say 35% is safe for the doors but thats almost clear. I had 5% on my vette and never got hassled but im going with 15% on my Cobalt.

In NY you CAN put tints on the front window but they can only be smoked.. like a 70% !!.. The rear can be anything and I dont remember the side back windows can be anything I think................. something like that!

Go to Samstinting.com <------ great place to get tints done on ANYTHING He is like right down the street for me.. ANYWAY.. On his website he has a " Legend" of what the state limits are on tinting.

You should take it back and complain, they put the wrong shifter in it...

nice...I got the LS sedan myself. they didn't have the right color in a stick so I got the auto...didn't want to wait for a silver stick.

mine came with dealer installed 18" wheels and Nitto P215-40's with tinted window glass (not film)

I'm quite surprised at the auto myself. The last 4 cylinder GM product I test drove with an auto was a 1996 S10. That engine bogged down everytime I'd hit the gas. So coming in to look at this car, I was probably subconciously thinking the same of this one.

Nope! You put this thing in drive and it wants to GO!

Yeah I think I got the shifter I wanted.

I have only seen a couple coupes on the road so far. Mostly Sedans. I am enjoying the attention the car gets while I can, I know in a year they will be everywhere!

I wouldn't know. The ladies are asleep when I'm driving. Hooray for night shifts!

I actually like firm seats. Heck, I've even got a firm bed so it's comfy for me.

Yeah the exhaust does look wimpy, I noticed that on the showroom floor. That'll be remedied later on.

First Off,, Sweet Ride, Love the silver, starting to think that maybe i should have gotten that color......................... nah, I like my Black Cobalt.

Second, I was watching a t.v special over dinner a few nights ago about an independant study done on all sport compact and midsize cars released in north america for the 2005 Model Year. I was alarmed to find that only the Chev Cobalt (woo hoo!!!! ) and the toyota Corolla recieved acceptable marks in the safety category. Now before anyone goes banging the War Drum, I was not able to hear the audio of this program as I was in a Lounge at the time and I wasnt about to ask the whole bar to be quiet so I could hear about information on the Car I just bought. Just Wondering if anyone had heard similar results or if the Molson Canadian was starting to get to me after only half a bottle..... LOL

I actually heard this on the radio the other day. ABC radio news said the Cobalt and the Corolla got high marks, but if I recall correctly they said those two had optional side impact airbags.

Just Google'd it and yep, the Cobalt and Corolla got high marks with optional side airbags. Without the airbags, they rated poor as well.

Better URL...the place that did the actual testing, far more indepth than the news reports:

http://www.iihs.org/news_releases/2005/pr030605.htm

And whaddya know, there's a thread on too! I missed it in all the the other stuff.
