shining my SC and valve cover

This is one view on the worked that i am starting. This is the first step. Brush shine. Next will be sanding down to 2000. Then buf and polish. What do you guys think?

You can also look at my new sticker that adds ~36 HP. Also you can see i got the Ingalls ETD.

Hear are some picturs of the second step in polishing the valve cover. I sanded it down from 360 top 800 then to 1500. I might go to 2000 but I think I can polish out the rest. It looks ok and it is really smoth. All I need to do know is polish it will a tip on my die grinder.

Grate. I have no wheel hop at all anymore. Once I took out the washers and tightened it up to 10 it has been working flawlessly.

I first used a steal brush on the end of the power drill. that is the first pictures that you see. I then took 360 wet san paper to it to level it. The I went up to 800 wet for another 3 passes. Then I went to 1500. After 3 passes with 1500 I would polish with a metal polish and soft rag.

When my fingers heal from all the sanding I will use my die grinder and some polishing tips to polish it to mirror finish.

I will post pics of the finish of the 1500 sanding soon.

Ya, I did not get around the oil cap yet. I will have to take the oil cap off and tape the hole closed and then buff out the rest. Car quest has a body supply shop inside. They have all that you need. If you do not have a car quest then go to any auto body parts store and you will find the wet sandpaper you need. For the buffing you will need to go to Sears and get a Dermal and a buffing kit. I also recommend getting the blue high polish stick the red compound also works good too.. After that you will need to get some type of metal polish. You should be good to go after that.

Hear is a picture of all the stuf I used.

Ya I have started on my SC also but like you said it will be tough with just sandpaper but that is the only way to go. If you try some type of griding it will just leave marks that you will have to sand out. As for the cover I think that it looks good. I might go with something like that or I will have it candy blue powder coated.
