2.4 SS Whipple

Has anyone heard anything from them about a SC for us? I know they make a kit for the PT Cruiser...

They probably won't make a "kit" because they figure that if you wanted a supercharger, you would have bought an SS/SC or Redline.

There should be a whipple s/c that will fit the 2.4SS but it will need some adapters machined is my prediction. No kit.

Whipple doesn't make that size charger right now and possibly won't.

Do you guys think it would be cheaper to do a turbo kit or to find a supercharger that would work on the 2.4SS???

It wouldn't. Get a SS S/C intake manifold, heat exchanger, IC pump, S/C, intake, belt tensioner and belt, and have someone tune it for you.

use the 2.2 eco s/c kit , that is for the cavalier/sunfire

it will give you 90% of what you need to get started , only things you need will be tuning , and stuff from the ss/sc for the intercooler

and give you a few parts you can sell

with the cost of a 2.4, it'll cost way more than it would cost to buy an ss/sc....and you still wouldn't have upgraded brakes/suspension/body kit etc. etc.

i'm pretty sure the brakes are interchangeable. as far as body... only diff i note are slightly different LOOKING trim, i don't think there is any huge sweat. i do like the SS/SC ride however, that's slick

I wonder how hard of a time I would have getting rid of my SC set up when the turbo kits hit? I'm seriously thinking of converting my car to turbo and selling the SC.

I thought about it, but man I've always wanted a turbo. I've wanted a turbo for as far back as long as I've been buying cars. I've just never had the time to take the car off-line while the internals got built up, or had the shop support to do all work getting the motor ready. With this car it's ready, and I just have to wait for Hahn to release the kit. I get the distinct impression I won't have any trouble getting rid of the SC set up once the 2.2 ecu is cracked.

So if you go this route you have a choice to keep the SC or sell it,at least selling it will help finace the turboBtw holy crap you are averaging 3hun posts in a month lol

Yeah, I'm thinking about selling it if this turbo comes out. I think they're going to focus on the 2.2 first though.

Yall do realize your pretty high compresion for f/i... thus being the reason why I don't believe every company is trying to make a kit for ya.

The motor is fine for F/I. Just don't over do it, and tune it right.
