Bullseye s256 questions (support bracket, turbo blanket, etc.)
I have the zzp stage 2 turbo kit and my first manifold cracked. I know the new cast design is a lot stronger but I want to make sure this one doesn't crack on me. Does anyone make a turbo support bracket specifically for the bullseye s256 or do I have to get a universal one and go from there.

Also, does anyone have a turbo blanket or heat shield of some sort? Is it worth 100 bucks to get one? I'm looking at this one but if it's not worth it i'll spend the money else where...

You can get a stainless wrap for your current line and a turbo blanket would be nice. I know mine put off a killer amount of heat where I had to get rid of all the stock heat shields.

What about the bracing has anyone braced thier turbo? And if I take the compressor housing off to get it powdercoated do I have to rebuild the turbo? I don't want to rebuild it if I don't have to as it's in good condition still

I thought powdercoat was fine for the cold side. I can't find a shop around here that does ceramic coating. the one we have in town says it would make their insurance too high lol. so I was going to powder coat the cold side and get the turbo blanket so i don't have to see the rust on the hot side lol

I did drop my compressor housing off to get powdercoated rape yellow to match my valve cover and it looks like my new manifold will be here friday and I already have a new gasket for the manifold to head. What do you suggest to use on the oil feed lines where they attach to the CHRA i think it's called? I used high temp rtv the last two times and i haven't had any leaks but I found some gaskets that you can buy for like $2 are those worth it or just use the gasket maker again?
I would just use gm grey sealer or grey RTV. Works great and you have to buy a gasket every time. Be sure not to use to much and block off the oil feed hole.
I had a ss hot side on my s256 and my under hood temps were crazy. It didn't help that I didn't have heat shields for a while. When I would come to a stop when the outside temps were up it would raise the idle from the under good temps being so high. I would recommend a turbo blanket from my experience. Also make sure you use high heat anti seize in the ss so the bolts don't seize in it. A lot of people had problems with that when using bullseyes ss hot side. All of this was on a Dsm so the turbo was up front so that didn't help.

Yeah man it only happened a couple days on 90+ days. I was watching the coolant temp with link and it never went above 210. No boost leaks tested it up to 30psi. The under hood temps were so high it melted my radiator fan. Lol so after that I had to make some changes. They should have made the turbo water cooled.

What about the gasket between the turbo and the manfiold? Can I reuse that one or is it supposed to be replaced everytime? This gasket here
