Cobalt-Addiction front mount heat exchanger

[FONT="Arial Black"]i am just wondering if it is worth it and if it will do anything as far as the performance of the car.

07 SS/SC Stage2 Corsa cat-back and a 2.79 pulley 18lbs of boost.

Very much worth it, the M62 needs alot of cooling, but you could do it for cheaper with a cobra heat exchanger

Think of it kinda like an inter cooler helps a Turbo car.

The LSJ has one as part of the intake mani, and with adding a Heat Exchanger, u allow for more fluid to be used to cool the charger. I donno If i explained that every good...

a heat exchanger dose what it's name says. the intercooler is a closed loop set up, it dose not run inline radiator. instead there’s a air to water intercooler ,a heat exchanger, and its own water pump . the heat exchanger is basically a radiator. inside the intercooler there are ...lets just call them pipes with fins , like a heat sink , inside those pipe is coolant. here’s the reader digest version of how it works.

supercharger blows into intercooler>the heat from the air is transferred to the heat sink which transfers the heat to coolant, the coolant is then run out of the intercooler and into the heat exchanger , form there the heat it transferred from the coolant in exchanger into the ambient air outside that’s running across it.

the things that sucks is that our heat exchanger is behind the ac condenser and in front of the radiator. by adding an aftermarket heat exchanger you increase the capacity to transfer heat by adding more surface area and more air flow by placing in front of the ac condenser. plus being further away from the super hot radiator doesn’t hurt either.

Ps im talking about adding inline with the stock exchanger in its stock location
a few other options, not sure if that all fit , but i know they will all take custom brackets to mount.

So would this 'free up horsepower' / extend SC life or just extend SC life?

it would help to prevent heat soak and lower iat2 temps which in effect would help to recliam some lost power to heat soak.

its not earth shattering horsepower but the car will pull a little harder in third gear. you want you IAT2's to be as low as possible. the m62 generates a lot of heat so cooling it down will extend the life of it as well

no i dont have any problems as far as fuel i actually have a buddy that told me to put that pulley on the car there is plenty of fuel there he is a mechanic and has built many cars. He said that those injectors are good up to almost 20lbs eaisily 60lb injectors are huge and it will make the car run real rich i have almost a perfect air fuel ratio.

will the lines and fittings of the cobalt heat exchanger work with the cobra heat exchanger? and can you use the dual pass with the cobra as well? or is the cobra heat exchanger better then the cobalt with a dual pass?

I would suggest you do a search on this subject>..Weather or not your buddy is a wrench turner or Not! We have been dealing with these cars since they came out & there aren't very many that did what you are doing & didn't blow #4 or something! I am running a 2.8 & my A/F is 11.40 to 11.60 which is where these cars like it! But my injector duty cycle is 105%, So they are maxed! Just FYI

DO NOT BUY A 2.6
it over spins ur blower
and yes 60 lbs injects are GREAT but over works the fuel pump if not tuned properly
i would go with the one step lower on the injectors

Any ways
cobra h/e does not add HP. it prevents HP loss just like was said in page one
Heat soak is a huge problem with these cars, well all roots blowers have a problem with heat

Best cooling upgrades IMO w/o use of cyro or meth etc...

Gm's dual pass heat x-changer (Adds hp)
Cobra's front mount Heat x-changer///

I got into a accident with a dog so the dealer ship instead an aftermarket cobra front mount heat changer... Alot more pricier.. But works alot better then the stock cobra front mount

the duel pass heat x-changer from gm is REALLY Great upgrade

But so is the cobra heat exchanger....

I suggest both

I have my resovoir running through the cobra h/e then into my dual pass h/e

so i have both pumps going... Then im going to get a cyro set up for hte front mount
then i will never run into any heating issues with a 2.7 pulley

All the fittings will work, you just need extra hose..

Does anyone know if you can leave the stock HE on with the CA HE? or do you have to take out the stock HE? I just bought the CA HE set up but it didnt come with a install manual.

You can run both. It's actually better to run both inline with each other.
