idk i think this design has promise. just probably a few kinks but probably vents alot of air alot quicker. its huge! and its the circumference of the 3in charge pipe

heres a vid explaining it more

Newb Question - What is the main purpose of a BOW anyway? Does it raise the engine's performance? What does the thing do exactly?

it vents excess air when theres a drop in boost pressure so that there isent compressor surge. ( basily too much pressure in the charge piping along with not enough pressure coming out of the turbo. compresser surge makes ur turbo wanna spin backwards and can really **** up your turbo/engine )

and its BOV not BOW

the blow off valve in the op was a new design by steed speed in canada. its a bov that opens along the tubing. so tehre is no flange required and it vents crazy cfms fast as ****.
