Hey guys,

Quick question. Do i HAVE to tune if i get the Tuner kit with an automatic. I know that alpha kit for manuals only comes with the SCT tune and i was just wondering isnt it set at a certain boost and all i have is lsj exhaust and intake so theres no injector or internals mods

Hell no man, you don't need a tune, just slap a turbo on it and go racin!!!

Lol, Jkya. You WILL definitly have to tune the car if you put the tuner kit on it. That's why it's called a tuner kit, lol... Unless of coarse you have a grudge against your engine and want to kill it...

 

ok well i live in kansas. can vince just send me a tune he knows will work if i have an afterarket exhaust? hasnt he done it that way before without the tuning?

 

you will want to add more performance parts to your car before you get tuned. otherwise youll end up tuning to get the most you can get out of the part everytime you buy somethin which will end up rackin up alot of money in the end. just go ahead and hold off on the tune for now, get all the parts that you want, install at one time then hit up vince for the tune

 

parts like what? im just giving the car a little more pep. its and auto so im not going over 250 just to be safe and i know i wont get there but i have 2.4 mani kit and exhaust to go with the turbo kit i dont have to do anything else right. injectors arent required are they that much better.

You will have to have a tune if you put the turbo kit on. Yes Vince can pretty much tune for any turbo. I put a turbonetics turbo on my 05 ls, completly custom kit and he tuned it no problem... Good luck with it...

 

thanks man. my stuff will be on the way hoping to install in the next two weeks! im so excited its such a step up from 136 hp lol
