DIY vs KIT

Would it be more cost effective to piece together a supercharger kit with an M62, or should I just go for the ZZP kit?

Piece it together, you'll save money...but on the other hand it'll take some time. Hit up mongo, he usually has full kits or most of a kit for fairly cheap!

If you buy a kit from ZZP you will surely find the work has been done for you, to make for a trouble free install. Just as the GMPP S/C kit for the Cavvy 2.2 does the same thing.

Hit up Mongorat for parts, well thats a great idea. And contact and soak up as much info as you can from someone on the forums, who has done this and has a successful conversion.

And find a good tuner. Good luck.

zzp kit doesnt come with EVERY SINGLE THING like it says.
random clamps bolts ect are needed. i had to pay my shop like however much more to get the nessicary parts
also if you have problems they have limited support as i believe they havent even installed this kit on a 2.2.
and if your auto enjoy the intake they send. its garbage and rests against the subframe you have to cram it in there. the pipe isnt even concidered a intake just a tube of pipe with a slot for maf.
get a cold air and you will be better off

if you have the money up front, want the warranty assurance, and an easier install, go with ZZP.
Im running plenty of ZZP parts on my 04 cavalier to support my ported M62 build. I put everything together and whats funny, is my supporting mods cost thousands, the supercharger parts from the doner car (06 SS/SC) were only $500

Like Powell said, research and make sure you have a quality tune solution planned ahead of time (thats a few hundred right there). Nothing worse than jumping the gun on a 'great deal', and it either has faulty parts you cant sell or send back. That or having everything install but have no proper tuning set up and driving it for a long time on a **** tune. I learned my lesson on the tune...my L61 took a dump at 205k miles from a VERY rich tune for a year, ringland ended up tucked up nicely in the valves. Got me a complete LSJ on its way right now though
