ebay turbo kit for $600 promising 400hp??

my friend with a 95 eclipse says that he's going to buy a turbo kit from ebay for 600 dollars and says the the page says it gets 400hp. i asked him who made it and he said he didnt know. i told him its b/s, but he doesnt believe me. he already put forged pistons in but i still dont believe its anywhere near a good kit..what are your guy's thoughts on this?

sure it'll make 400 hp with enough boost/supporting mods...it may only make that power for one pull on the dyno lol but hey, they never said how long it'll last lol

lmao ebay kits suck and dont last. waste of money dude. sometimes they work out fine for the consumer from what I hear but very hit or miss. not worth the time, money or hassle...

alot of ebay and no-name turbos actually are not that bad. i dont trust their wastegates though. i have used them on multiple builds of friends cars...just remove the internal wastegate assembly and tac-weld the rod shut and convert to external wastegate. one of them lasted 2 years on 25+psi, the others lasted a little over a year and a half but hey its a $150-200 turbo. what do you expect? lol

OOOOOOO........Electric Turbocharger = Electric must be better than mechanical.........What ever "mechanical" means. People are IDIOTS.

See...........the only difference is the one of the turbos above will exlpode if they produce more than 0.5 lbs of boost. I wonder which one it is? It's gotta be the bottom one. It's way to shiny to be real.

in all honesty, stretching the limits of the setup and everything, its possible. but its reliability over time is the key question.

Yes, the 420A kit is 400hp capable.

It may not be reliable at all, and will require pistons, rods, and standalone tuning....but it CAN make 400.

The first car I ever build was a 91' eclipse gsx, I bought an eBay kit for 900, everything worked but for the BOV and the piping for the front mount was just retarded how they want me to run it but I made 400whp on it at like 25lbs and it lasted like 3year
