Ok guys I wasnt sure wat section to put this is. I have an 07 ss/sc with k&n cai, ported blower and tb, and a pacsetter header nd xtc dp ready to install. Anyways I dnt really have the money to spend on exhaust righbt now and the local chp are getting really **** about exhaust. So my ? is how would these items sound on the stoc lsj exhaust? I know my buddy put a catless dp on his lnf stock exhaust and it sounds hella awesome but im not sure about ours. I just want it to be a little louder and not so rice and i know that cat backs do not make a signifigant difference on our cars. Also wat size is the stock cat back? 2.5?

the exhaust is a 2.5
its not too loud but idk with a pacesetter header...

 

2.5 and it gets lil smaller over the axle. if you dont want to get pulled over then leave it as is, theres no exhaust after market thats quiet... not matter what you do, if your having local problems with cops weather its quiet of not, unfortunatly any aftermarket exhaust is illegal quiet or not anything other than factory is illegal, so there going to hassel you if it doesnt look stock too, so on that note only thing i could think of in your case but its going to be supper loud would be and electric exhaust cut out, opens and close with a switch of a buttom.

we dont have problems as bad as you do with cops here....yet.

 

i dnt need it to be extremely loud infact i like the kinda quiet sleeper sound i just wanna be able to hear it. i STILL WISH THERE WAS SOMEWAY TO MAKE OUR CARS SOUND LIKE A z OR G35.LOL. aS FOR THE EXHAUST in cali aftermarket exhaust is legal just has to meet 95 dba. FYI. The GMPP touring actually does meet that.lol

 

if its just a down pipe you would get by, Lfns arent as loud on exhaust casue the turbo. turbo'd cars usally dont have loud exhaust even with 3"

most states don't have (dB) levels most are stock or it illegal, it use to be a (dB) here but it changed to stock or illegal but we dont get hassels here least i never have

 

yea i know. It's the paceshitter header and a custom hi flow catted dp.lol. As for turbos not bein loud. U ever driven next to an srt-4 strait piped?lol

only other thing i can think of for you only want a lil more sound is have a local muffler shop cut you resantor off and weld in a piece of pipe, yeah to make your car sound like an z or g35 like you said insnt posable it be cool, but on those cars it not the exhaust that makes it sound like that its the design of the motor and type, for example a wrx when you put an exhaust on the car and you get the sound of like on any other car would be mistaken as a misfire, its not the exhaust that makes it sound like that, its the design of the motor, the exhaust just makes it able to heard

LSJ's = 2.50 exhaust, over the axle before rear muffler is 2.25, than after the axle it returns to 2.50... hence why they make axle back exhaust for our car because aftermarket exhausts are still 2.50 so why spend $53465354634 on a exhaust when you can spend 95 bucks on a axle back and dont ever have to worry about it...

 

u read it wrong man. The GMPP does pass 95 dba but it passed at a 94.lol. and that was without cai, and header and dp.lol. Our cars sound like **** with a resonator delete dnt they?

yea there is nothin sexyier than a subi but my buddy has an exhaust set up sounds just like a subi on a balt. pretty damn cool.lol

except an axelback stilll makes it ungodly loud.lol

 

Rusty, keep the GMPP, and put an attractive 4" magnaflow tip. I don't know how you get pulled over so much, it's ridiculous, haha.

I have no front plate, dark tint, and i sit about 4 inches off the ground, how do i not get pulled over?

dude i live in a town that has a tiny populatiomn and a bunch of cops with no real jobs to do but pull people over for violations. I actually got pulled over yesterday and the guy7 goes do u know why i piulled u over? I go my exhaust?(because thats why they always pull me over) and he goes no, because u look modified. I was like wtf

note this link is of mine, also note i didnt mis second gear, that was a run 1,500miles after my motor build and the car was so much different that the power band just hit red line i bounched of the revlimiter and and to wait for the tires to gain traction again, i spun the tires in third and forth, but its not really noticable for i just eased off the gas, i still ran a 13.07 1/4 my trap was 119
