few questions on boost controller

well i was looking at the hallman boost controllers, and i learned that when installed they are hooked up with a boost source(manifold) on the end and then on the perpindicular hookup the line runs to the wastgate. i thought that the bov was tied into this somehow?

btw i know this is a noobish qustion and i know the bov has to do with pressure in the ic piping but i still thought it was tied into somehow?

the manifold send pressure to the BOV the boost controller goes in between the line from the wasgate and whatever that lines connect to on the other end, like on my set up the boost controller will in inbewteen the wastgate and the j pipe...basically put in the middle of the line that goes to ur wastegate right now...
http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/arti...stall-mbc.html
maybe that will help

those should help as they show how to route it from both the intake mani and the compressor side of the turbo, alos the BOV goes to the manifold so it knows when to open and let pressure escape thru it instead on going back to the turbo

Ok, does this MBC work without a MAP clamp or anything else? I am just looking for a bump to 24 psi. Would be really fun. Also, do you need to run a mechanical boost gauge>

if you drive a ss/tc once you peak over 20lbs.. it will throw it in limp mode.. suggesting too much boost/ over boosting has occured.. id rec no more than 19.. unless you have IC hard pipes and not the cheap stock plastic ones.. mine is at 17.5 and it hasnt hit any codes yet "knocks on wood table" i ran 19 at the strip for pinks arm drop.. and ran a best of 13.6.. so it does help alot

Thats why God made HPTuners. No overboost for me! Been running 24 psi the past few days, it really likes it. Just the boost controller I made is not consistent enough for me, so I am scrapping it for something else. IDK what yet, I'll figure it out.

It has nothing to do with the MAP sensors... You hook it up to one of the lines from the wastegate to the Factory boost controller. Unplug the factory boost controller, and run the MBC in one of the hoses on the turbo. I don't really feel like explaining which one right now (just got off work, sorry). Basically, if you don't know what you are doing, don't do it. If you aren't tuned, don't do it.
