no matter what it depends on what you are designing the system for. Good luck finding a water to air on a road race car and good lock finding a air to air in a drag car. Street use either works. I perfer air to air since its simpler lighter and for short boost runs (under 30 seconds) in my opinion better. But it boils down to who you ask no matter what.

you DID preface it with IMO, which is good, but air/water IC systems are definitely the superior choice for short boost runs. Thats why, as you said, they are used for short drag races, whereas for long track runs an air/air core is used
