KNow about turbos? Help me out.

So... I picked this turbo up recently. I have the chance to keep it and gice the guy the other half of the money or to give it back for my money back. The guy was kind enough to let me take it home to inspect.

From what I understand it is a Garrett t3 with a turbonetics compressor. I don't know too much else about it. It seems to be in perfect condition except when I blow into the oil feed and hold the other end shut with a finger or something i can hear it come out the compressor side. I think whatever is in there might be busted but I'm not sure. Maybe if I add oil to it it will seal up again?

IDK but if anyone has any info or anything that might help me with my decision to keep it or not I would gladly appreciate it.

yea that's fine as a starter turbo, its a standard t3 flange, you can get those really cheap.

its either a 60 trim turbo, or a 48 trim turbo. But either or will be fine

I think its blown, It's been sitting in a shop for many years. When you blow through the oil passage and cover the other side you can hear it come out of the turbine and the compressor. IDK if when it gets oil in it if this will stop. Also the compressor seems to be a knockoff.

It only sais turbonetics on one tag, it doesn't spell out the name on the side of it or anything. any ideas? Am I just paranoid for a good deal?

Just go buy a brand new turbonetics T04E for $600. You wont have to worry about if its going to work or not...
