I think you are right, an exhaust is just about all you will have to "custom" rig.
Just bolt it in, and by "in" I'm assuming you mean in the firewall. You'll need some self tapping screws, and some red locktite to make sure the engine stays "in".
And buy a heat exchanger.

would be one sneaky setup...
and if you can squeeze a C-SRT4 setup in there, you would be the only six speed Cobalt on the site!
The C-SRT4 is grossly under rated on this site (for understandable reasons);
My brother has one, and I think it's cool...
(it just has two too many doors for me )

neat!
I seem to recall hearing that scythe grenaded his transmission recently - but I hadn't seen that thread...
Thanks for the link!
also worth noting was that the F40 was installed in some older G6-GT's, but was quietly dropped for unknonw reasons from the option list...
I had heard that the F40 was deemed a higher friction transmission, and pretty much negated any theoretical increase in mileage from the increased drivetrain loss... but who knows if that's true.
again - thanks for the link!

Sorry to post in a completely off topic manner, but no, i never grenaded my transmission. I have actually never broken a transmission in my car, either. I'm not sure where that came from, but, it's completely false.

first question.. why the "need help now!!" like it's a real emergency? this would take a while to fabricate i don't think getting an answer in the next 5 minutes will help this project.
second, why would you want to put an srt4 engine and tranny in your cobalt?
third, if you drive an SRT4, the grammar in your original post sucks and makes it sound like you wish to swap an srt4 motor into a cobalt
fourth, why the hell would you want to do this? waste of time and money. the LSJ and LNF are great motors already.
