Pulley swap

Hey whats up-

Im planning on swapping out my stock supercharger pulley for a 2.858" pulley. Working off a limited budget, are there any upgrades that have to be done with that; or anything I should know before preforming this???

Thanks- Luke

You should at least have 42.5 injectors and a maf-t or some other thing to control fuel.
and colder spark plugs to be safe.

im putting my 2.8 in this week with this setup i can let you know.

I believe to go that much smaller with no other mods, you will need a shorter drive belt or a larger idler pulley as well.

umm not quiet, the stock injectors have been proven to provide enough fuel for most applications. i have been running my stockers with my 2.9 pully for a while and no problems no fuel cut off and no lag. and for the belt yes you will get a lot of slipping at first but when the belt seats its self and with a little belt dressing it will be fine. mine only squeeked for a few days then i was fine

Thats all false. He will get massive slip and run out of gas at 5000.

Not one of you said upgraded heat exchanger, dual pass, or option b? **** I'm running the stock GM stage 2 pulley and I wouldn't go lower if I didn't have those things.

Look at the dates.... in 06 that stuff was only for the crazy high end builds.

Exactly what I was thinking. I was reading this like " why the hell has nobody said stage 3 h/e, headers, option b, dual pass, etc. Etc. Etc" ....then I realized this thread happened back when cobalts were still infants lol

****, I was running a 2.8 on 42lb injectors in '06. My only "cooling" mod was a CAI.

You could run 60s with a 2.9 and no cooling mods. Any smaller than a 2.9 and you need better cooling. Even with a 2.9, too much abuse would cause nasty iats. And yes you need new injectors..
