putting a turbo kit together (2.2) 2009 LAP

Ok guys, i decided to put a turbo kit together. Can anyone tell me what i need to piece together a kit? so far i know i need..

Turbo with internal wastegate
Blow off valve
intercooler with piping
Bigger exhaust
turbo manifold

thats all i know. what else do i need? and can my shop make a turbo manifold for me? thanks guys

You wont save any money putting your own together like a honda. Check out the garrett systems or talk to zzperformance.

Where you at in Pittsburgh? Im in the monroeville area.

if you know what ur doing u can piece it together for around 1500-2k...but garret just had a major price cut, would cost the same as their kit...a saab set up woudl run u 1500ish...

Besides me being the first to supercharge an LAP, I was told there is 1 person in the country currently running a turbo kit. Perhaps you can ask around and find out who that is.

Im not sure what tuning software works for you, i use hp tuners but i dont think it works for the 2.2 pcm. The tuner i'm dealing with now though is really good. Here is his website:

wow they need to update their site, that kit has dropped to about half the cost, selling for way less than that...check ebay...type in cobalt turbo...look for it u'll see it for around 1600 same kit...like i said garrett cut the **** out of the cost

Squires turbo kit is only $1,695. I think its a steal. any opinions? and if anyone of you are thinking to post some gay stupid post that doesnt help and if its an insulting post like people on this question then dont waste your precious time. Only serious answers please.

search for STS u will find out a 2.2 eco put down 256whp on their system its all out there, just search for it man...there is no turbo system that hasnt been discussed in the past, STS, ebay, vulcan, garrett, hahn, zzp, etc etc etc

hey i have a 2008 cobalt ls 2.2 i am turboing and idk if you ran into this problem but im not sure what i can do with my mass air flow sensor. since the piping doesnt have a spot for it. i bought everything seperate. i have everything i can think of. just not sure about that piece

Don't forget to put an oil restriction in the feed line. You will blow turbos left and right. Probly better off buying a "kit"

Is there any turbos out there for automatics? Everything i have ever found is for manuals, or am i just misreading the information tabs on the turbos? If there is any turbos for automatics would it be to much to ask to have the site/url that makes a turbo for auto.
