question concerning bov

question concerning bov

well i got my bov in and its an 11psi spring in it...tial 50mm...i plan to run my setup at about 10 psi or so...wouldnt i need a spring lower than the 10psi? only makes sense that the spring wouldnt ever compress on the bov because there isnt enough pressure...any takes?

The spring has nothing to do with the boost it will hold, well to a point. I've run 25psi+ and I have a Tial and use the -9psi spring. You are suppose to choose the spring according to your engine vacuum at idle.

Tial has a chart. if you idle at say -20 vac then you want X spring. I believe there are 4 different spring types to choose from. Its real simple as long as you know your idle vac.

arent the spring pressure adjustable thru the screw on the top? or it the tial not adjustable?

well initially thats what it thought...and ive noticed at idle i stay between 20-23 or so

well do you have to read hg when its stock or turboed? i wouldnt think it would matter, and according to tial's spec sheet i should be running a 12psi...the car stays around 21 or so

choose the correct spring according to vacuum and then go up or down depending on whether you get compressor surge or not
