Stock boost gauge mechanical????

I was wondering if the stock boost gauge on an SS/SC is mechanical or if not then what is it? I would like to replace it with another one like a glowshift gauge?

No its an electric gauge.

IIRC the stock gauge gets its reading from the map sensor

Ok thanks guys. Any ideas on a good gauge bc I will have all blue gauges on the a pillar!
