stock k04 question

alright as many of you know i have a 2.2 l61 with the stock k04 turbo and wastegate. i wanna know why i can spike 15-20 pounds of boost even though it leans out? it sucks because i have to watch the boost gauge to let off at 10 (where i want full boost to be) can anyone help me?

i can think of a few reasons why u would get boost spike that high.
too small of a wastegate
boost reference line not hooked up correctly
too small of a turbo

are you spiking 15-20psi or are you holding 15-20psi when under load? ive never heard of a boost spike that is twice the psi of the wastegate setting...

Also where are you getting your boost feed from for the wastegate? Try tapping the cold side chargepipe instead of running it off of the intake mani.
