turbo for 2.2 help?

so i know how for the 2.2l you can get the lsj intake mani and supercharger and parts and it will bolt up. Is this the same for a turbo manifold from the lnf and the whole turbo set up? and will my block, rods, and pistons hold this??? please help

all of the ecotecs can share certain parts. i would assume you are referring to the exhaust manifold, and yes you can use it. I dont think you can use the intake manifold. I may be wrong, I do not have an LNF to confirm.

It would be far easier to buy a kit from one of the manufacturers. Seems to me from your questions that you have never owned/ modified/ built a turbo car prior. So please do not attempt this without some seriously heavy research into what all is needed, what all you will have to do, what all has to be changed.

as for your other questions:

will your block handle it? well to answer this question, I would pull the stats from GM and I believe the highest GM suggests ~700hp before the block begins to give up

Will your rods handle it? well how much boost? how much timing? If you do not run a lot of timing or boost then your stuff will do fine, but wont make a lot of power. If you run more timing or boost you will make power but could drastically reduce the life of your rods and further more your engine.

Will your pistons handle it? how hot are you going to run the engine? what kind of cylinder pressure? which spark plugs? what fuel? etc etc etc.

Start with Maximum Boost by Corky Bell, once youve read through that, understand the concepts and designs, then build your own turbo kit and go forward.

no the lnf intake mani does not bolt up to L61 head. 250WHP is your limit on rods and pistons.

hes referring to the kit that I have. the kit currently is listed for $1300 but the turbo has blown so it will need a new turbo. If 250whp is your max, I would suggest using a 14b from a DSM. Its a good turbo, spools quickly and extremely cheap and easy to find.

On the kit make a nice offer. All offers will be considered thats for sure. the only thing the kit will need added to it is a boost controller and injectors.

We carry a turbo manifold, sheet metal intake manifold, turbos, blow off valves, wastegates, ect. All you need is a set of Injectors and some tubing, and you are all set!

Yes I has a disco potato! lol
It's a really basic boost controller, it's not a name brand at all... I'd let it go for $5
And I have 39#s for sale.

take a plastic bag, fill it full of air and start twisting the top down until it pops, that is about how good the stock manifold holds boost... You should really upgrade to an aluminum/stainless unit.

I like the disco potato just for the name lol. Damn I was thinking about picking up a hallman MBC, Im currently running a tru-boost but I want to see if I can spool faster with an MBC.

The 250 is just a recommendation i ran my L61 for 9 months making 285 WHP which was prolly around 325 at the crank on a crappy tune that was on a POS j body PCM. You could easily make over 300 on a stock engine with a really good tune but its not going to last as long if you replaced the rods. The killer is knock, detonation, and heat. Every engine is dif i highly recommend replacing the parts its kinda like insurance yes you can drive your car without it but its frowned upon lol.

Well yeah obviously, those results were also used with nitrous and not boost so there's gonna be quite a difference. But for safety reasons I would say 250WHP...

Agreed the only reason i pushed the stock engine so far was to see what it would take
