turbo with out a tune?

im sorry bout asking this on our cobalt site but im at a loss. A friend of mine just bougt a turbo kit for his mid 90's honda civic hatch 1.6 i know, but it's what he wanted.
Any who he bought a "complete kit" from some freakin internet site it was turbonetics kit. But it said nothing about tuning, it didnt come with a hand held nore did it say anything about shippin ecm in for reflash, Nothing! He wanted to just throught it on and drivie it im like woe nelly no sir dont sound like a smart thing to do! but it turned out that night he was lacking enough pipe for the exhaust so it didnt turn out any way.

But ever hear of a turbo kit with out the neccesity of tunning?????

Aftermarket turbo kits always need tuning.

Depending how much boost he wanted to run, you can get by without tuning. You can use a FPR and Missing Link. Then just use the dizzy to back off timing. Very ghetto, but it works if you want to be cheap.

its a t3t4 kit, dont know how much boost he plans on running. IMO regardless i think it should get tuned before he runs it, should'nt spend that money just to have a half cocked jimmy rigged turbo lol

but thanx for the help guys, thought i was right. But im not a honda guy so i want positive!

Tell him to look into "Crome" for tuning. It's basically free, and some people say it's up there with HonData.

Honda kits never come with engine/fuel management. since there are so many choices available they leave it up to you.

I'm surprised they didn't throw a hondata in there. Either way, there' definitely no lack in options for that honda.
