turbo recommendations

Hey guys I am looking to get a big turbo to put on my car. I see all these cobalts on here running up to 50lbs of boost and I want to do that. But I have no idea how to shop for a turbo or what other things ill need to do other than tune and intercooler. (09 Ss/Tc 3in DP &K&N sri)

Just so you know how worthless 600whp is in FWD
LOT OF SPINNING IN THE FIRST GEAR HE'S IN:

A ride in Ryans 610whp 06 Cobalt SS 2.0 liter - YouTube

And around 900whp

Ryan's ZZP LSJ Cobalt Dynos 891 WHP - YouTube

ENJOY NOOBIE.

Oh and to this you'll need about $10,000 AT LEAST!!!!

And wait. When you say you see ALL THE COBALTS runnin 50lbs. You mean???? I know of like 3 running that much boost. Not really a good ratio compared to how many members CSS.net has.

With all that spinning he is still faster the most on this site, please explain to me how useless that is.

Max you can run on a streetable car that you actually want the engine to last on is around 30psi...and thats on e85. You may be able to get around 35 on E98/E100.

lol, jus cause hes new doesnt mean hes not going to make stupid comments that make people laugh like the one above. and i agree that everyone was there once but i kno when i was new to cars i did a whole hell lot of reading more than posting things that i had very little knowledge on. like saying i want to make 50lbs of boost on a ss.tc with a dp and intake with a big turbo and tune

thats jus how i look at what he stated

50psi is out of any of the turbo's going to be mentioned efficiency range by light years. Ryan's car is the exception after lots of attention to detail and money have been dumped in the car. For you Leta start with YOUR actual goals and then some more realistic #'s like 22-24psi. Remember bro you start small and go from there, just like starting as a newb and working yourself up.

Let the educating begin...............................bitches

you have alot to learn my friend, but big power can be made for sure, turbo selection has alot to do with what you plan to use the car for, drag, track, street, highway monster? each one of those will need a different turbo to best work for that specific function.

figure out what you want to do with the car first, than figure budget, than decide if you can afford to do it!

if you need a good place to look for products, check out cheapturbo.com

I would check out our LSJ turbo swap kit. I realize this seems like a case of "he's just saying ZZP because he has to" but not the case. If you want the highest quality parts, best performing parts, tech support, proven results, great warranty, bigger IC, better oil solution, factory style IC mounting that doesn't fail, cast stainless exhaust manifold, T-bolt clamps for every connection, alternator solution, etc..... and up to date turbo technology then our kit is the product to look into.

That being said, I have seen all the competitors kits come through our door and they are not even close to the quality that ours are. From a customers stand point I would feel like I got my moneys worth if a ZZP kit showed up at my door.

Also keep in mind 50psi on a 50 trim isn't comparable to an actual big turbo like a 42r or even a 35r. You should say an actual air flow your looking to accomplish instead of a psi. Running 30 psi on a 14b turbo is a lot different than 30 psi on say a s366et.

I'm surprised no one mentioned this yet but he probably said 50lbs b/c he probably saw someone mention that certain turbos could flow 50lbs/min VE. He probably got that mixed up with boost.
