Turbo Timer really needed?

Recently I have been thinking about getting a turbo timer. My question is are they really even worth getting? I know the Turbo on my Cobalt is water cooled, and I was just wondering since it's water cooled to I really even have to let it idle for 2 minutes or even get a turbo timer?

Turbo timers are never needed. They are a convenience item at most but IMO more of a show peice than a proper supporting mod. Pretty much if you don't just go for a full run @ the track then immediately shut your car off at the finish line you wont have an issue. Even less problems with a water cooled turbo.

usually with ball bearing turbos they dont need it. Its always good to let the car cool down though if you been boosting alot before turning it off.

Your going to get alot of different answers with a question like that

I have mine set at 30 sec. and that's all you need with a water/oil cooled turbo IMO
If you can sit in your car for that long then you don't need one. I did it for 3 months before I decided that $120 it's not too much cash for the convinience a Turbo Timer provides.

I think I will wait a while to get one then and just buy one when I have the extra cash for one laying around.
