Hello! I'm trying to test the vacuum levels of my engine so I know which spring to use in my Tial QR blow off valve. I've got a T coming off the exhaust manifold. The hose that is in my hand goes directly to the blow off valve. However, when I hook it up to the T and turn the car on, it does not register any vacuum levels at all. Am I testing in the wrong place for this?

 

Wire it up like stock, then plug in the hose from the BPV to your BOV and the other end directly into the intake mani and do your test from that. Cover up the left nipple and the bottom nipple on the little solenoid to the left of the intake manifold and remove the vaccum tank.

 

I'm not sure how the stock setup works and my bpv has a plate covering it.

 

you have it hooked up to the exhaust manifold? huh?

theres a little dink that has a hose attatched to it right on top of the intake manifold, pop the hose off and test from there.

i use a 10psi spring in my tial Q btw.

Yeah that's how it was when I bought the car. A co worker is telling me that I need to get a forge divertor valve and set it up like stock...but I have no clue how that interacts with having the recirculating blow off valve setup.

 

My co-worker wants me to buy the forge divertor valve and open back up the plate blocking off the factory bpv and set up all the vacuum lines like his SS is stock. Is that really a good thing to do with an aftermarket recirculating bov setup?

 

You need to hook up the Tial bov directly to the intake manifold as seen in the picture in post #4

 

Hey sorry I've been super busy! Is the hose that I'm supposed to use the one that is a hard plastic one coming off the vertical plastic piece off the manifold?
