so yea i'd say save up for a good year then you'd be "safe" other wise .. you'll have to put every cent of your paychecks into boosting the car / saving and you wont be able to do anything

we're just trying to look out for you
I understand that your just trying to look out for me... but I think I have it set.
Insurance is PAID OFF UNTIL AUGUST/SEPT 2010. So I dont have to put any towards that.

As for "4 months", It will be less than that. I expect it to be mid/late march. I already have $1200 set aside in my "turbo fund", along with $500 in my regular checking account. The way I do it is... every month, I put my checks in my regular checking account, and spend the money as needed. Any money that is left over from that weeks pay, is transferred into my "turbo fund" It's not putting a damper on my spending habbits and theres no need to be frugal about anything. Plus I have an estimated $800 tax return this year too. The kit is 1900 dollars, 2050 after shipping. I'm only going stage 1 for now, leaving room for improvement though. Since I am a trifecta dealer, I get the tune at a discounted price, I wont post it but it's a decent rate.

As for install, I have a [group of] friends that are MORE than happy to do it. Some even offered to loan me money so I could do it sooner, but I didnt want to be in debt. They have all gone to school for autobody/mechanic, and all work/have their own businesses as mechanics. They are willing to do it free of charge.

If "anything were to go wrong", a really good freind of mine works at advance auto parts, and would be able to help me out when it comes to rebuilding/purchasing a new motor.

I think I have all the bases covered, but who knows, I'm just a dumb 17 year old

I see 2.2s go for 300 all the time on craigslist, Plus if the **** REALLLY hits the fan, I've got an old 87 dodge that I bought for $100 bucks, but I dont like talking about that car, because its really pathetic. It's been in a friends back yard for a few weeks, inspected and registered, just need to be insured. My parents dont know about it though so I'll only whip that out if I really need it.

I'm sureee you've seen the sub-$300 2.2s all over craigslist. I had a guy down to $250 dollar for a 07 2.2 with 30k + a tranny. **** goes cheap here, especially with all the econobox cobalts flying around here.

you seem really confident which can either be a great motivator or a huge downfall.....it's great that you've got your bases covered but also take into account experience and advice. If you think you've got everything planned...plan some more lol. Sounds like you've got your stuff pretty set. Always remember worst case tho. I plan on going this same route later this year, good luck!

Also HPtuners correct? Or is that option only for the LAP 2.2?

Also... what kind of power is the stock 5 spd none to handle? Or has anyone not pushed it yet?

All depends on the driver, to a point that is.

thats true, but there are plenty of Jbody guys in the 400whp range on an otherwise stock F23, and seeing as how i doubt he'll reach 300whp without a good amount of supporting mods and tuning, i think the F23 is safe for him.

the only two manual transmissions used in any of the delta cars (to the best of my knowledge) are the F23 and the F35, so yes

We have sold quite a few of these kits to the 2.2 guys lately. The kit wasn't developed for the 2.2, meaning it was all built off the 2.4 engine and car, but no one seems to be having any problems or complants. I would imagine the cars are quite similar.

You have sold the new SC kits that were not going to be released til march 1st? or the used prototype that are around 1150? Everyone is waiting to see this product released. There is a bigger thread started in the 2.4 section i believe with discusions about this but not much information has been posted yet on amount of HP increase and the big thing, PRICE.

Everyone is doing taxes so the longer zzp waits, the bigger chance that person uses the money on something else.

I agree on the taxes part. If you wait to long your chances for a big hit in sales will be gone. I'm a HUGE fan of this kit, I want it as badly as anyone else but when I get my money in I'm not waiting a month or longer. I'd be even more interested if I knew how tuning would be done. Will we need to find our own source for a tune. If so Vince will be HAPPY! Lol like Christmas for him. I wouldn't want hpt or ls2 tuning. I trust Vince and for the price he is the best deal.

Actually I bought my 2008 Lt brand new two years ago, I was a journeyman plumber and didnt really need anything else or could i really justify buying anything more expensive. Two two years later I now have started my own Plumbing company and have two kids , 1.5 yr old and a 2month old. I would trade in my cobalt for a TC except dealer ship only wants to give me 8g's for mine, And i would like to buy a nicer car like a infiniti or a mercedes. except my kids will destroy it.

So you are all retarded, just because on a good day I make make $700 before taxes,
1. Does not mean i make $180,000 a yr. that would be $140,000 if i made that every day.
2. Doesnt mean thats what I take home
3. Just cuz your all 17, and have no other bills, My fiance stays home with the kids and I pay the rent the food, All my companys bills, the utilitys the insurance and everything else that comes up.

So i figured the best solution was to Turbo my car, $3000 and a couple other mods keeping it all under $5000, and have a faster car then the new Tc plus not owe anything on it.

Yo. I've got the 2.4 Ion and am going with this kit. Question is: since I'm going with Trifecta tuning, should I go with he 2.2 kit? I also already have an intake and bought the #33 injectors before I decided to boost...will ZZP cut me a deal? I'd like to save the rest of cash for my real prize....the fiance. Haha.
