I don't see a problem with the ugly plastic trim on the performance monitor. Just break that **** off, build your own case and paint it to match.

I dont know why everyone is so excited about the performance display. Im not sure what they want for the option but if its over 200 bucks im not impressed.

What does look nice is the USB IPOD integration you get by checking the UUI option for 100 bucks. Not to mention the bluetooth handsfree phone integration.

My gf's altima 2.5SL has the aux input but having to fiddle with the ipods playlist on the ipod while driving is not nearly as nice as having the Radio controls work your music.

My criterion for my next car.

4 doors
1/4 mile in under 14 seconds
26highway mpg or better
Ipod integration
Bluetooth hands free
Manual transmission
Short turning radius / easy to park
Responds well to mods

So the only vehicles that meet most of this requirements are the G35 Sedan or the Cobalt SS

The G35 costs over 10,000 more, and cant match the fuel economy or the warrany of the cobalt

Signs are pointing me to the SS

The RPD option is $295. The fact that you can add that into the final price of the car, and when that is spread throughout the monthly payments really doesn't affect the over-all price of it.

What about the new G37? Does that fit your criteria?

09 changes

Just got an 09 and I like the performance display even if it's a little boxy
the G meter for cornering is fun as it saves your high for the drive until you turn the ignition off just have to try not to see what I'm pulling in the middle of a corner next to a cliff

The Cruze is the disgusting name GM is giving the Cobalt replacement.
No Coupe, just a sedan designed by koreans with an awful name. No bailout can help a company this ignorant.

So, what happens to this site when the cobalt is done in MAY ???

So i hear dealers are really hurting in cars sales, but they sure don't show it, I have been to 1/2 dozen dealers in Ont. Canada telling them i want to order an 09 cobalt TC before the May dead line. But i need help to get rid of my 06 cobalt SC that has a yr. left on my lease. And they are all talk about selling you a car, but when it comes down to it don't lift a finger to do anything to help you ???

Good questions, especially since the idiots at GM don't seem to have a Coupe and can you imagine buying something called the CruzeSS?
Just got Motor Trend Mag and they ranked the Cobalt SS second, in front of the Civic, Mazda 3, WTX, Lancer, etc.
Sure, what a great idea to kill off the Cobalt nameplate!

I tell ya, its crap like this that just makes me want to tell GM to take a hike.

So GM has stated they are getting rid of the Cobalt in May. I really don't think it says that anywhere just internet gossip. If you want to base your life on gossip go ahead and feel free to do so however more intelligent people will base their desicions on factual information and not the tripe found here.

This isn't gossip, GM itself has said the Cruze is replacing the Cobalt. The Cobalt is being discontinued. Straight from the horses mouth, and this has been a fact for over a year now.
For someone who is supposed to be more intelligent than the rest of us it's odd that you didn't know that.
Maybe a little actual knowledge and a little less attitude would be good for you.

Hmmm! Would that be Mr Ed? His word would be official enough in my book.

So what your saying is May 09, is the deadline to order a cobalt..

The Cruze isn't coming out till 2011, so maybe fall of 2010...

so from May 09 - Fall 2010.. about a year, they will not have a car to compete...

With the Civic, Mazda 3 etc....

Common...

No, I never said May 9. When the Cruze is ready the Cobalt will be discontinued.
No more Cobalt name after that. Dumb if you ask me, especially when they're changing the name to Cruze (ugh).
