I'm averaging a bit over 25 mpg in strictly city driving. I've made two long highway trips, and averaged 35.0 and 33.4 respectively.

What is your average MPG in your Cobalt PER TANK OF GAS

This is the # your DIC shows, not what you get using the "old-school" math method.

I'm not talking about the one time you reset it going 62 on your trip to TN and got 47 mpg, I mean what is your usual average week to week (or fillup to fillup)

@ $3.39 / Gallon for 87 Octane with 10% Ethanol, I'm averaging a fillup of ~$37.00 every 4-5 days. I average about 280 - 330 Miles per tank if I am pushing it a little bit every day for an hour or 2 total.

just bought my cobalt about a month ago. with my normal driving as well as with my heavy right foot (especially considering how excited i am to have it), im getting between 23-24 mpg. seems everytime i try to do the get good gas mileage thing, i somehow find a few drives that bring me down haha

alleycat58 04-20-2011 12:11 PM

Oh these were the days. My DIC average is now around 24mpg, but calculated it's 17mpg.

CobawLT2010 04-20-2011 01:36 PM

DIC says 24... guess I have a heavy foot... or I want this slowbalt to acually keep up with traffic... lol ;)

On average I run a combined 26 MPG or 8.9L/100KM but straight freeway driving I get 6L/100km or 40 MPG!!

That is with a 2.9 pulley 42 LB injectors and a Trifecta tune. Oh and a slipping clutch.....

ForsakenOutlaw57 08-07-2011 12:53 PM

Well I drove to Cape Cod averaging 67/68mph the whole way and got 35.6 mpg :)

Normally I'm low 30s or high 20s depending on how much I play.

2.0 LSJ Intake Mod, headers, exhaust, B & M.

22-27 depending on my spirited driving on the tank.

Cruising longer distances I always get 38mpg ALWAYS

DIC stays 32 but I never reset it.

R1600Turbo 10-23-2011 04:25 AM

DIC is telling me I'm +/- 37mpg depending on how hard I push it. Just filled the tank yesterday and my own math came out to just under 34mpg. Mix of city/highway as half my daily commute is city streets, and the other half is a 65mph cruise down the freeway.

'06 Cobalt LS sedan, bone stock.

Edit: 5-speed manual.

RONS09COBALT 11-08-2011 12:01 PM

I own a 2009 cobalt tc with only gm stage II update to computer with cai. Just drove from baltimore to budds creek for the import vs dom drag race. Normal driving, some wot runs on the highway, and a few stops in traffic idling waiting to get in parking lot of race track and leaving. average was 30.2. :twothumbs

riceburner 11-08-2011 12:06 PM

lsj... all city, refilled my tank and calculated (not using the dumb epa thing on the dash) by miles i drove / gallon, and im getting 25. and i beat on it all the time

[11] 11-13-2011 06:29 PM

stock lsj 70% freeway 30% city, car out of alignment; 30 mpg.
stock le5 80% freeway, 20% city, 32 mpg.

nhanson 11-13-2011 06:41 PM

i get 28 mpg with beating on it everyday.

LSJ TB lowered economy some

RicerHater 11-13-2011 06:46 PM

i can get to thunder bay and back on a tank of gas and still have some left for around town. . .so 40mpg in my 2.2. which i think is pretty good. thunder bay round trip is just over 400 km

bean2080 04-15-2012 04:46 PM

i been around 37 for a while but now im down to about the mid 35's, hopefully its just the time of year.

Joshbolt 04-15-2012 07:11 PM

05 Base
Highway is usually around 36-38
City is 28... on a good day!
Last month I realized going 55 MPH instead of 65 can make a HUGE difference. ;)

Sox-Fan 04-15-2012 09:45 PM

if you get on I-90 at 55 you'll be road pizza before you get too far.
