I'm averaging a bit over 25 mpg in strictly city driving. I've made two long highway trips, and averaged 35.0 and 33.4 respectively.

What is your average MPG in your Cobalt PER TANK OF GAS
This is the # your DIC shows, not what you get using the "old-school" math method. I'm not talking about the one time you reset it going 62 on your trip to TN and got 47 mpg, I mean what is your usual average week to week (or fillup to fillup) |

Oh these were the days. My DIC average is now around 24mpg, but calculated it's 17mpg.
|
DIC says 24... guess I have a heavy foot... or I want this slowbalt to acually keep up with traffic... lol ;)
jk |
On average I run a combined 26 MPG or 8.9L/100KM but straight freeway driving I get 6L/100km or 40 MPG!!
That is with a 2.9 pulley 42 LB injectors and a Trifecta tune. Oh and a slipping clutch..... |
Well I drove to Cape Cod averaging 67/68mph the whole way and got 35.6 mpg :)
Normally I'm low 30s or high 20s depending on how much I play. |
2.0 LSJ Intake Mod, headers, exhaust, B & M.
22-27 depending on my spirited driving on the tank. Cruising longer distances I always get 38mpg ALWAYS DIC stays 32 but I never reset it. |
DIC is telling me I'm +/- 37mpg depending on how hard I push it. Just filled the tank yesterday and my own math came out to just under 34mpg. Mix of city/highway as half my daily commute is city streets, and the other half is a 65mph cruise down the freeway.
'06 Cobalt LS sedan, bone stock. Edit: 5-speed manual. |
I own a 2009 cobalt tc with only gm stage II update to computer with cai. Just drove from baltimore to budds creek for the import vs dom drag race. Normal driving, some wot runs on the highway, and a few stops in traffic idling waiting to get in parking lot of race track and leaving. average was 30.2. :twothumbs
|
lsj... all city, refilled my tank and calculated (not using the dumb epa thing on the dash) by miles i drove / gallon, and im getting 25. and i beat on it all the time
|
stock lsj 70% freeway 30% city, car out of alignment; 30 mpg.
stock le5 80% freeway, 20% city, 32 mpg. |
i get 28 mpg with beating on it everyday.
LSJ TB lowered economy some |
i can get to thunder bay and back on a tank of gas and still have some left for around town. . .so 40mpg in my 2.2. which i think is pretty good. thunder bay round trip is just over 400 km

05 Base
Highway is usually around 36-38 City is 28... on a good day! Last month I realized going 55 MPH instead of 65 can make a HUGE difference. ;) |
if you get on I-90 at 55 you'll be road pizza before you get too far.
