S256et gas mileage

As some of you may know, I recently went up to ZZP to have my turbo kit installed. (for dyno vid check my other thread) On the way there my cobalt had only the gm stage 1 tune for mods (That's it). I averaged 32 mpg going 70-75 the whole way. After having everything installed and tuned, I drove back home and Did the test again. I ended up with 31 mpg for the trip going 70-75 the whole way with a little "spirited" driving here and there but not too much just thought I'd post for anyone considering a bigger turbo option but scared about their mpg's.

Thanks for the info!
I would think that if you stay out of boost, because of the higher spool, you would get a little bit better gas mileage.

If your DD and not even getting into boost how will one turbo be any diff from another?. Just like bigger injectors..if your not using them it wont hurt mpg.

Yea I think the only reason it came out lower than before was cuz I had more fun on the way home lol. If I drove the same way I think I would have gotten the same

anyone scared about mpgs with a bigger turbo would be concerned with highway mpg as you arent on the boost. shouldnt really do much to it at all.

My stock turbo car gets an average of like 24mpg... then again sitting in Austin traffic for 30 miles each way is not helping.

New house is in Dripping springs.... All the way up mopac to 2222/Lamar

Means through all of Camp Mabry BS, Y in oak hill and a little bit of downtown crap from where the office is to get to Mopac. Airport is pretty close to here and ive been thinking about jumping on it down to 71 to the Y.

I get 29-31 with my stock turbo on stock tune... seen it show 37mpg on flat land with a tweaked stock tune and my current boltons.

Pretty sure my buddies del sol with a GT4080R got 35ish mpg on the highway when it still had a 5th gear with the 26" drag radials... now its a 4 speed and stays on 25" slicks

I don't know why I am not getting good MPG from my GT4080R, In average I got 28-30. and recently I also found some clicking noise from my engine, does any one have any idea why I am getting this?

Of course a bigger turbo won't give u any worse gas mileage cause when u drive normally ur not boosting, ur car will use the same amount of fuel, it's when ur getting hard on it that it will drop a bit, depending on how big and how much power ur making
